The setting Do not span ensures that an archive is never segmented. Segment files can be as small as 64 KB and as large as 4,928,256KB. The default Auto-Detect setting automatically breaks an archive into segments if you are storing an archive onto removable media, such as floppy disks, or if the destination drive lacks space to store the archive in one piece. Select or enter a size for the segment files in the Split size drop-down menu.
